Assertive to Interrogative
An assertive sentence makes a statement (positive or negative), while an interrogative sentence asks a question. To convert an assertive sentence into an interrogative without changing its meaning, we often reverse its structure or introduce auxiliary verbs (do, does, did, is, are, has, have, etc.).
✅ General Rules:
- If the sentence is affirmative, make a negative question.
- If the sentence is negative, make a positive question.
- Use the auxiliary verb first, followed by the subject.
- If the sentence has no auxiliary or be verb, use do/does/did in the interrogative form.
Examples with Rules Applied:
1. Affirmative Sentences with Auxiliary or Be Verbs
👉 Begin with a negative question (isn’t, wasn’t, can’t, etc.)
