Short Version
Once there was an old pond in a village. Many frogs lived happily in the pond. They liked to swim and sing together.
One day, some boys were walking beside the pond. They heard the frogs singing. The boys thought it would be fun to throw stones at them. So, they started throwing stones into the pond.
The frogs became afraid and stopped singing. But the boys did not stop. They continued throwing stones. Some frogs were hurt, and some died.
At last, an old frog came near the boys and said, “Please stop throwing stones at us. This may be a game for you, but it can kill us.”
The boys understood their mistake. They felt sorry for the frogs and stopped throwing stones. Then they left the pond quietly.
Moral: We should never hurt others for fun.
Expanded Version
Once there was an old pond near a village. Many frogs lived in the pond. They swam in the water, sat on the banks, and made sounds together. The pond was their home, and they lived there peacefully.
One day, a group of boys came walking beside the pond. They saw the frogs jumping in and out of the water. The boys thought it would be fun to throw stones at them.
They picked up small stones and began throwing them into the pond. When a stone landed near a frog, the boys laughed. The frightened frogs quickly jumped into the water and tried to hide.
But the boys continued their game. They threw more and more stones. Some frogs were hurt, and a few were killed.
At last, an old frog came close to the bank. He raised his head and said, “Boys, please stop. You are laughing because you think this is a game. But what is fun for you is very dangerous for us. Your stones can hurt or kill us.”
The boys became quiet. They looked at the injured frogs and understood what they had done.
They felt sorry and stopped throwing stones. Then they left the pond without making any more trouble.
The frogs slowly came out again and returned to their peaceful life.
Moral: We should never hurt others for fun.
