The Thirsty Crow

It was a hot summer day. The sun was very hot. A crow became very thirsty. It flew here and there to find water, but it found no water.

At last, the crow saw a pitcher near a house. It became very happy. It flew down and looked into the pitcher. There was a little water inside it. But the water was at the bottom. The crow could not reach it.

The crow thought for a while. Then it saw some small stones nearby. It picked up the stones one by one and dropped them into the pitcher.

Slowly, the water came up. The crow drank the water and flew away happily.

The crow became sad for a moment. Then it began to think. It looked around and saw many small stones on the ground. Suddenly, it got a clever idea. It picked up a stone with its beak and dropped it into the pitcher. Then it dropped another stone. It went on dropping stones one after another.

Slowly, the water began to rise. The crow worked patiently. After some time, the water came near the mouth of the pitcher. Now the crow could reach it easily.

The crow drank the cool water and felt happy. Then it flew away with new strength. The story teaches us that we should not lose hope. Intelligence, patience, and hard work can solve many problems.
