The Lion and the Mouse

Once a lion was sleeping in a forest. A little mouse came there. It was running and playing happily. By chance, it ran over the lion’s face. The lion woke up and became very angry.

He caught the mouse and said, “I will kill you.” The mouse cried, “Please let me go. One day I may help you.” The lion laughed, but he let the mouse go.

After some days, hunters caught the lion in a net. The lion roared loudly. The mouse heard the sound and came running.

It cut the net with its sharp teeth. The lion became free. He thanked the mouse. A small friend can also help.

The mouse cut the net with its sharp teeth. Soon the lion was free. The lion thanked the mouse and said, “You were right. Even a small friend can help.” Kindness is never lost.

Once a lion was sleeping in a forest. He was very tired, so he was sleeping under a big tree. Suddenly, a little mouse came there. The mouse did not notice the sleeping lion. It was running here and there and playing happily.

By chance, the mouse ran over the lion’s face. The lion woke up at once. He became very angry. He caught the little mouse with his big paw and said, “You have disturbed my sleep. I will kill you now.”

The poor mouse began to cry. It said, “O king of the forest, please forgive me. I made a mistake. Please let me go. One day I may help you.” The lion laughed loudly. He said, “You are very small. How can you help a strong lion?” But the lion was kind. So he let the mouse go.

After a few days, the lion was walking in the forest. Suddenly, he was caught in a hunter’s net. He tried again and again to get out, but he could not. He became afraid and roared loudly. His roar went through the forest.

The little mouse heard the lion’s roar. It ran to the place and saw the lion in the net. The mouse said, “Do not worry. I will help you.” Then it began to cut the net with its sharp teeth.

After some time, the net was cut, and the lion became free. The lion felt very happy. He said, “Little friend, I laughed at you before. But today you saved my life.” The story teaches us that nobody is too small to help others. Kindness always brings good results.
