Robert Bruce watched it carefully. At last, the spider climbed to the top. The king thought, “If a small spider can try again, I can also try again.”
So he came out of the cave. He called his soldiers and fought again. This time, he won the battle. He learned that we should never give up.

Suddenly, he saw a small spider. The spider was trying to climb up the wall of the cave. It climbed a little and fell down. Again it tried, and again it fell. Robert Bruce watched it with interest. The spider failed many times, but it did not stop.
At last, the spider reached the top of the wall. Robert Bruce became hopeful. He said, “This small spider has taught me a great lesson. I must try again.”
He came out of the cave. He called his brave soldiers and prepared for another battle. This time, they fought with courage and won. Scotland became free. The story teaches us: try again and never give up.

But he was unlucky in the beginning. He lost one battle after another. His soldiers became tired and afraid. Many of them left him. Robert Bruce also became very sad. He thought, “Perhaps I cannot save my country.” At last, he ran away and hid in a lonely cave.
Inside the cave, Robert Bruce sat alone. He felt weak and hopeless. He did not want to fight again. While he was sitting there, he saw a small spider on the wall. The spider was trying to climb up to its web. It climbed a little, but it fell down.
The spider tried again. Again it fell. It tried a third time, a fourth time, and many more times. Robert Bruce watched the spider carefully. He thought, “This small creature is not giving up.” At last, after many tries, the spider reached its web at the top of the wall.
Robert Bruce stood up with new hope. He said to himself, “If a small spider can try again and win, I can also try again.” He came out of the cave and called his soldiers. He spoke to them with courage. The soldiers also became brave again.
Soon Robert Bruce fought another battle. This time, he and his soldiers fought with strong hearts. They won the battle and saved Scotland. Robert Bruce learned a great lesson from the spider: failure is not the end. We must try again until we win.
