Bayazid did not wake her up. He stood beside her bed with the glass of water in his hand. He waited the whole night.

In the morning, his mother woke up and saw him standing. She became very happy. She blessed him and prayed for him.

But the water pot was empty. Bayazid became worried, but he did not waste time. He took the pot and went out of the house. It was dark outside, and everyone was sleeping. Still, he walked to a far place and brought some water for his mother.

When Bayazid came back, he saw that his mother was sleeping again. He stood near her bed with the glass of water in his hand. He did not call her. He thought, “Mother is very ill. If I wake her, she may feel pain. I will wait.” So he waited silently.

Bayazid stood there the whole night. He was tired, but he did not sit down. In the morning, his mother opened her eyes. She saw her son standing with the glass of water. She understood that he had waited all night.

His mother’s eyes filled with tears. She placed her hand on Bayazid’s head and blessed him. She prayed, “May Allah make you great.” Bayazid later became a great and respected man. This story teaches us to love and serve our parents.
