It was late at night. All my family members were sleeping. I was studying for my exam the next day. Suddenly, I heard a knock at the door.

At first, I became afraid. I called my father. He woke up and opened the door. An old man was standing outside. He looked very tired and weak.

He said, “Please help me. My wife is very sick. I need some medicine.” My father and I went with him. We bought medicine from a nearby shop.

The old woman took the medicine and felt better. The old man thanked us. I returned home and studied again.

The next day, I did well in the exam. I felt happy because we helped someone.

My father opened the door carefully. An old man was standing outside. He was breathing fast. His face was full of fear. He said, “My wife is very sick. I need medicine at once. I am old, and I cannot go alone.” My father did not waste time. He took some money and told me to bring a torch.

We went with the old man to a nearby medicine shop. The shopkeeper knew my father, so he opened the shop and gave the medicine. Then we went to the old man’s house. His wife was lying on a bed. She took the medicine and slowly felt better.

The old man thanked us with tears in his eyes. We returned home late, but my heart was full of peace. I studied for a short time and then slept. The next day, I sat for my exam and wrote well. I learned that exams are important, but helping people in danger is also very important.
