Direct Speech এর Parts
এই lesson-এ তুমি শিখবে:
এই sentence-টা দেখো:
- Rafi said to me, “I will help you.”
এটি একটি direct speech sentence।
কিন্তু এটাকে indirect speech-এ change করার আগে তোমাকে এর parts চিনতে হবে।
- একটি direct speech sentence শুধু একটানা কিছু word না।
- এর ভেতরে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কিছু part থাকে।
- তুমি যদি এই parts ঠিকমতো চিনতে পারো, narration অনেক সহজ হয়ে যাবে।
Direct Speech Sentence কী
Direct speech-এ speaker-এর exact words লেখা হয়।
Example:
- Rafi said to me, “I will help you.”
- Mina said, “I am tired.”
- The teacher said, “Open your book.”
এই সব sentence-এ speaker-এর exact words quotation mark-এর ভিতরে আছে।
এখন আমরা এই ধরনের sentence-এর parts শিখব।
Direct Speech-এর দুইটি Main Part
একটি direct speech sentence-এ সাধারণত দুইটি main part থাকে:
- Reporting part
- Reported part
এছাড়া reporting part-এর ভিতরে একটি important verb থাকে। একে reporting verb বলে।
তাই এই lesson-এ আমরা তিনটি জিনিস শিখব:
- Reporting part
- Reported part
- Reporting verb
Reporting Part কী
যে অংশ quotation mark-এর বাইরে থাকে, তাকে reporting part বলে।
Example:
- Rafi said to me, “I will help you.”
এখানে quotation mark-এর বাইরের অংশ হলো:
- Rafi said to me
তাই এটি reporting part।
এই অংশ থেকে আমরা জানতে পারি:
- কে কথা বলছে (speaker)
- কাকে বলছে (listener)
আরও examples দেখো। নীল রঙের অংশ reporting part। বলতে পারো কেনো এটি reporting part?
- Mina said, “I am tired.”
- The teacher said to the students, “Open your books.”
- Mother told me, “Finish your homework.”
সহজ idea:
- যে words quotation mark-এর বাইরে থাকে, সেগুলো সাধারণত reporting part-এর মধ্যে পড়ে।
Reported Part কী
যে অংশ quotation mark-এর ভিতরে থাকে, তাকে reported part বলে।
Example:
- Rafi said to me, “I will help you.”
এখানে quotation mark-এর ভিতরের অংশ হলো:
- “I will help you.”
তাই এটি reported part।
এই অংশে speaker-এর আসল কথাগুলো থাকে।
আরও examples দেখো। নীল রঙের অংশ reported part। বলতে পারো কেনো এটি reported part?

সহজ idea:
- যে words quotation mark-এর ভিতরে থাকে, সেগুলো reported part-এর মধ্যে পড়ে।
Reporting Verb কী
- Reporting part-এর verb-কে reporting verb বলে।
আবার sentence-টা দেখো:
- Rafi said to me, “I will help you.”
Reporting part হলো:
- Rafi said to me
এখন এই অংশের verb খুঁজে বের করো:
- said
তাই reporting verb হলো:
- said
আরও examples দেখো। নীল রঙের অংশ reporting verb। বলতে পারো কেনো এটি reporting verb?
- Mina said, “I am tired.”
- The teacher asked me, “Are you ready?”
- Mother told me, “Sit down.”
Explanation:
- এখানে reporting verb said না, told।
- তাই মনে রাখবে reporting verb শুধু said নয়। told, asked, said to ইত্যাদিও হতে পারে।
এই reporting verb খুব important, কারণ পরের lesson-গুলোতে direct থেকে indirect change করার সময় এই verb অনেক সময় বদলায়।
একটি Sentence Step by Step
এখন একটি sentence ভালোভাবে দেখি।
Sentence:
The girl said to her friend, “I know the answer.”
Step 1
আগে quotation mark খুঁজে বের করো। quotation mark-এর ভিতরের words হলো:
- “I know the answer.”
তাই এটি reported part।
Step 2
এখন quotation mark-এর বাইরের words দেখো:
- The girl said to her friend
তাই এটি reporting part।
Step 3
এখন reporting part-এর verb খুঁজে বের করো:
- said
তাই এটি reporting verb।
আরও লক্ষ্য করো:
- এখানে speaker হলো The girl।
- listener হলো her friend।
- আর quotation mark-এর ভেতরের words হলো actual spoken words।
অবশ্যই রাখবে:
- বাইরের অংশটি reporting part।
- ভেতরের অংশটি reported part।
- বাইরের অংশের verb-টি reporting verb।
এটাই সবচেয়ে সহজ method।
- বাইরের অংশ reporting part।
- ভেতরের অংশ reported part।
এই Lesson কেন Important
- অনেক student sentence-এর parts না চিনেই narration change করতে শুরু করে।
- তখন confusion হয়।
তুমি যদি আগে identify করতে পারো:
- Reporting part
- Reported part
- Reporting verb
তাহলে narration অনেক সহজ হবে।
তাই এই lesson narration-এর foundation lesson।
সহজে Parts বের করার Method
প্রতিবার এই method follow করো:
- প্রথমে quotation mark খুঁজে বের করো।
- তারপর quotation mark-এর ভিতরের অংশ mark করো। সেটি reported part।
- তারপর quotation mark-এর বাইরের অংশ mark করো। সেটি reporting part।
- তারপর reporting part-এর verb খুঁজে বের করো। সেটিই reporting verb।
এই method বারবার practice করলে খুব easy হয়ে যাবে।
Common Mistakes
Mistake 1
অনেকে মনে করে reported part quotation mark-এর বাইরে থাকে।
- এটা ভুল। Reported part quotation mark-এর ভিতরে থাকে।
Mistake 2
অনেকে মনে করে পুরো sentence-টাই reporting part।
- এটা ভুল। শুধু quotation mark-এর বাইরের অংশ reporting part।
Mistake 3
অনেকে মনে করে পুরো reporting part-টাই reporting verb।
- এটাও ভুল। Reporting verb হলো reporting part-এর শুধু verb।
Mistake 4
me, him, her, us, the students এই ধরনের listener word ignore করা।
- এগুলো important কারণ এগুলো বলে কাকে বলা হচ্ছে।
Quick Revision
একটি direct speech sentence-এ সাধারণত একটি বাইরের অংশ আর একটি ভেতরের অংশ থাকে।
- বাইরের অংশকে reporting part বলে।
- ভেতরের অংশকে reported part বলে।
- Reporting part-এর verb-কে reporting verb বলে।
