A Farmer and His Lazy Sons

Short Version

Once there was a farmer in a village. He had two sons. They were strong and healthy, but they were very lazy. They did not like to work.

One day, the farmer became very ill. He called his sons and said, “There is some treasure hidden in our field.” After saying this, the farmer died.

The two sons wanted to find the treasure. So, they went to the field and dug the ground again and again. But they could not find any treasure.

At last, they put seeds in the field. They took care of the field every day. After some time, the crops grew well. They got a very good harvest and earned a lot of money.

Then the sons understood their father’s words. Hard work was the real treasure.

Moral: The fruit of hard work is always sweet.

The sons were excited because they wanted the treasure. They went to the field and began digging. They dug one part, then another, and finally dug the whole field. But they found no gold, silver, or money.

They were disappointed. Since the land was already well dug, they decided to sow seeds there. They watered the field and looked after the crops.

After some months, the field was full of golden crops. They sold the harvest and earned a good amount of money.

Then the sons understood their father’s words. The real treasure was not hidden gold. It was the result of hard work.
