[লোকে বলে বলেরে

ঘর-বাড়ি ভালা না আমার]

But what can I build with nothing here?

[কি ঘর বানাইমু আমি শূণ্যেরও মাঝার।।]

I'll erect (make) a home,

[ভালা কইরা ঘর বানাইয়া]

Yet how long will I truly stay?

[কয়দিন থাকমু আর]

I gaze (to look at something for a long time) into the mirror,

[আয়না দিয়া চাইয়া দেখি]

Noticing (see) the strands of grey (grey hairs) in my hair.

[পাকনা চুল আমার।।]

[এ ভাবিয়া হাসন রাজা]

Hason Raja never built a dwelling (a house or place to live).
