Changing Imperative Sentences into Assertive

Rule 1. Add a Suitable Subject: Imperative sentences often omit the subject (you), as the focus is on the action. In assertive sentences, you need to explicitly state the subject.

Example:

Imperative: Eat your vegetables.
Assertive: You should eat your vegetables.

If an imperative sentence begins with 'Let', the object of 'Let' becomes the subject of the assertive. 

Imperative: Let us read now.
Assertive: We should read now.

Imperative: Let him go now.
Assertive: He should go now.

Imperative: Let the rain stop.
Assertive: The rain should stop.

Rule 2. Use Modal Verbs or Auxiliary Verbs: Introduce modal verbs or auxiliary verbs to make the sentence more assertive.

Example:

Imperative: Be quiet.
Assertive: You should be quiet.

Imperative: Don't go out in the rain.
Assertive: You should not go in the rain.

Imperative: Never tell a lie.
Assertive: You should never tell a lie.

Imperative: Always speak the truth.
Assertive: You should always speak the truth.
